Projects in the Community
Our fall Gatherings visited three community-oriented projects. They included, from left to right:
Brandeis University: Growing out of a student project in 2016, the Castle Hill Meadow today inspires others and serves as a research tool for the university community.
Fresh Pond Reservation: This inspiring volunteer effort is improving the health of a woodland area, while offering community members an opportunity to learn about native plants appropriate to their own gardens.
Spy Pond Shoreline Restoration: This town-funded project, aimed at stabilizing the shoreline and mitigating erosion, included replacing the invasive plant species with native plants that are well-suited to wetland environments.
